MEAL ALLOWANCE

» Concept

The meal allowance is a daily subsidy that has a nature of social benefit to be granted by the public employer as a reimbursement of expenses resulting from a meal had outside the usual residence, in days of actual performance of work

» Scheme

The requirements to grant meal allowance are as follows:

- Daily performance of work

- Compliance with, at least, half of the work normal daily duration

A number of situations in which there is no place to the pay of the meal allowance in accordance with aforementioned rules are here identified merely by way of example:

- Holidays

- Disease

- Marriage

- Parental leave, in any of the modes

- Death of a member of the family

- Assistance to members of the family

- Unjustified absences

- In the exercise of the right to strike

- Under student worker scheme

- By application of preventive suspension and in compliance with disciplinary penalties
