ABSENCES TO BE DEDUCTED IN THE HOLIDAY PERIOD
(Common regime)

» Concept and scope

Absence of the public employee justified to be deducted in the holiday period

Absences may be used in periods of half days; 2 days/month up to the maximum of 13 days/year, without prejudice to provisions set out in special law

» Formalities

» They must be required within a minimum 24 hour in advance or if it is not possible, on the day itself

» They are subject to authorization. Such authorization may be refused if the absences were likely to jeopardize the normal functioning of the body or service

» Effects

» The absences may be taken into account in the holidays of the current or of the subsequent year, by public employee’s option
