SPECIFIC WORK SCHEDULES

» Concept

Specific work schedules are those which are envisaged to adjust to the needs of public employees or their family members

» Regime

They may include, besides the continuous work day, wider flexibility regimes

Examples

Student workers, workers with children holders of disability, among others

It depends upon application of the persons concerned


CONTINUOUS WORK DAY

» Concept

It consists of the uninterrupted performance of work, with a rest period never higher than 30 minutes

» Regime

It determines a reduction of the work normal period never higher than one hour, to be settled by the service internal regulation

The rest time is deemed to be work time

It may be adopted in cases of grant of specific work schedules and in duly grounded exceptional cases

Worker with descendants or related parents, with age under 12 years or who are holders of disability, among others

HALF WORK DAY

» Concept

Consists of the performance of work, in a reduced period in half of the normal work period, on a full-time basis

» Regime

It determines a reduction of the work period in half of the normal work period
The performance of work under the form of half work day shall not have a term lower than one year
Determines the full calculation of the length of service for seniority purposes
Entails the setting of the pay of the compensation corresponding to 60% of the total amount received on a full-time performance of work system

» Who may request it

Public employees with 55 years of age or more on the date in which the half work day system has been requested and have grandchildren aged lower than 12 years
Public employees that have children less than 12 years of age or, irrespective of the age, with disability or chronic disease
