STAGGERED WORKING HOURS

» Concept

Staggered working hours are those which enable to establish, service by service or by group of workers, different fixed start and end working hours, maintaining unchanged the daily normal work period

The public employee has no possibility of option


SHIFT WORK

» Concept

Shift work is that which by regular and normal need of functioning of service, there is place to the performance of work in, at least, two daily and successive periods, and each one of them is of a non lower term to the work daily average duration

» Regime

» Shifts are on a staff turnover basis

» No more than five consecutive works shall be performed

» In services of permanent functioning no more than six consecutive work days shall be performed

» Interruptions for rest or meal not higher than thirty minutes are considered included in the work period

» The change of shift may only, as a rule, take place after the rest day

» The weekly rest day shall coincide with Sunday, at least, once in each four week period

» Shift allowance
