The lifetime appointed public employees and contracted public employees for an indefinite period of time perform their functions integrated in careers

A variable number of pay scales corresponds to each category of careers

» Pay scales in uni-categorical careers

A minimum number of eight pay scales correspond to the category of the uni-categorical career

» Pay scales in multi-categorical careers

In multi-categorical careers, the number of pay scales of each category complies with the following rules:

» A minimum number of eight pay scales correspond to the lower category

» A proportionally decreasing number of pay scales correspond to each one of the categories successively higher so as:

- Being the career divided in two categories, the minimum number of pay scales of the higher category is of four

- Being the career divided in three categories, the minimum number of pay scales of the categories successively higher is of five and two

- Being the career divided in four categories, the minimum number of pay scales of the categories successively higher is of six, four and two
