SUBJECTIVE SCOPE

Public employees holders of a public employment relationship regardless of the respective mode are covered by the convergent social protection scheme, affiliated in the Public Employees Special Pension Scheme (Caixa Geral de Aposentações) until 31 December 2005

Public employer and others, namely, public corporations, employing public employees covered by the CSPS

» Affiliation

The protection in eventualities of disability, old age and death depends upon affiliation in the Public Employees Special Pension Scheme that was compulsory. The right to protection for the remaining eventualities results from the existence of a labour relationship
