SUPPLEMENTARY WORK

The performance of supplementary work on a work normal day confers the public employee with the right to the following increases:

a) 25 % of the salary in the first hour

b) 37,5 % of the salary, in hours or subsequent fractions

c) The extraordinary work performed on a weekly rest day, compulsory or complementary, and on public holidays confers the public employee the right to an increase of 50% of the salary for each hour of work performed

The hour compensation that serves as a basis for calculation of the extraordinary work is calculated according to the formula of calculation of the value of the hour compensation (RB x 12):(52 x N), being considered, in situations of determination of the weekly work normal period in average terms, in which N means the average number of hours of the weekly work normal period actually performed in the body or service

» Supplementary work compensation limits for public employees under an appointment regime

Appointed public employees may not, in each month, receive more than one third of the corresponding basic salary as supplementary work. Thus, performance of such work shall not be demanded when it exceeds the fixed limit

Are maintained, under the law in force, the limits set for public employees integrated in the administrative staff and technical support staff careers assigned to the President of the Republic and Prime-Minister official residences

» For 2015, as exceptional budget stability measure, all hourly compensation increases related to supplementary work fulfilled on a work normal day by the persons referred to on No. 9 of paragraph 2 of law No. 75/2014, of 12 September, whose normal work time, established by law or agreement, do not exceed 7 hours per day or 35 hours per week are made as follows:

a) 12,5% of compensation on the 1st hour

b) 18,75% of compensation in the subsequent hours or fractions

Supplementary work performed in a compulsory or complementary weekly rest day and in public holidays confers the public employee the right to an increase of 25% of the compensation, for each hour of work performed
