Provided that one of the shifts is total or partially coincident with the night work period, shift public employees are entitled to a compensation increase calculated over the basic salary, the amount of which varies according to the number of shifts adopted, as well as the permanent or not permanent nature of the functioning of the service

Amount

The referred compensation increase varies between:

» 25 % e 22 %, when the shift regime is permanent, total or partial

» 22 % e 20 %, when the shift regime is total or partial prolonged weekly

» 20 % e 15 %, when the shift regime is total or partial weekly

» Modes of Shift Work

» The shift regime is permanent when work is fulfilled in all the days of the week

» The shift regime is prolonged weekly when work is fulfilled in all 5 work days and on Saturday or Sunday

» The shift regime is weekly when the work is fulfilled from Monday to Friday

» The shift regime is total when is fulfilled in, at least, three periods of the daily work

» »The shift regime is partial when work is fulfilled in only two periods of the daily work

Note

The setting of percentages is set out in an internal regulation or in collective labour regulation instrument. The compensation increase includes already the amount due for night work, but doesn’t exclude compensation for supplementary work
