The "Being a worker in the Public Administration" is an area integrated on the site of DGAEP, composed of a set of systematized information regarding the several legal systems governing public employment.

It encompasses a general, accurate and structured approach concerning the legal framework of the most relevant issues within the scope of public functions, created under a pragmatic and useful perspective, for the knowledge and usage of all stakeholders and workers of the Portuguese Public Administration, who are their addresses.

In this way, such information is aggregated in three poles of access: Starting functions, Fulfilling functions and Terminating functions, each one integrating the respective set of issues.

Each subject is systematized in subject files in which the essential aspects of systems applicable are highlighted and respective normative made available, as well as clarifications and complementary case law and, forms in usage or models put forward for the exercise of rights dealt with, capable of being filled in and used by electronic via.

Following this objective, this area is characterized as evolutionary and updatable, either in its ambit, or in instruments that are made available.
