The Portuguese Parliament approved this Friday, April 8, the Programme of the XXIII Constitutional Government.

The President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa accepted the PM António Costa's proposal for the appointment of secretaries of state. The new Secretary of State for Public Administration is Inês Ramires.

Portugal’s new government was known yesterday. The Ministry of State Modernization and Public Administration was extinguished and the DGAEP will be under the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, which will be led by Mariana Vieira da Silva.
The Government, which will be the third headed by António Costa, will have 17 ministers and 38 secretaries of State, 20% less than the previous one. After all the constitutional calendars are fulfilled, the new government is expected to take office on 30 March.
